Talks between FlySafair, striking pilots set to proceed – Solidarity

The pilots are calling for salary adjustments with an amended roster system, and have demanded a ten percent increase, rest time and leave benefits.

Solidarity union said that negotiations between FlySafair and its disgruntled pilots were set to proceed after numerous flights were cancelled on Monday due to a strike.

The pilots are calling for salary adjustments with an amended roster system, and have demanded a ten percent increase, rest time and leave benefits.

FlySafair has indicated that it was willing to negotiate “in good faith”.

Solidarity spokesperson, Helgard Cronjé, said that the union was determined to resolve the situation as disruptions could last up to two weeks.

“We hoped that they would have made this decision over the weekend already to try and prevent disruption from happening today. We are still concerned about the urgency that they approaching this with, seeing as they are only available to meet on Wednesday.”
