Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe’s bails application postponed to next week for judgement

Molefe returned to the Alexandra Magistrates Court, where he is charged in connection with the murders of popular Deejays, Sumbody and Vintos, whose real names were Oupa Sefoka and Hecter Buthelezi, respectively.

Lawyers representing murder-accused Katiso Molefe have asked the Alexandra Magistrates Court to be guided by a High Court decision to grant him bail.

Molefe returned to the Alexandra Magistrates Court, where he is charged in connection with the murders of popular Deejays, Sumbody and Vintos, whose real names were Oupa Sefoka and Hecter Buthelezi, respectively.

At the time of his arrest last month, he was already out on bail for another murder case.

Molefe’s lawyer, Advocate Michael Hellen, has repeatedly referred to a decision of the acting Gauteng High Court Judge President, Aubrey Ledwaba, to grant him bail on appeal.

But he said magistrate Renier Boshoff is not bound by this decision.

“No one should misunderstand; we are not saying for one second that judgement binds you at all, it’s the same personal circumstances, same crime and same potential sentences, and you may be guided by it, but you are not bound by it.”

Ledwaba made the decision to release Molefe on bail on new facts after the Vereeniging Magistrates Court denied his request in his case, where he’s charged for the murder of engineer Armand Swart.

Molefe’s bail hearing has been postponed to next week for judgement.
