Deputy Police Minister Polly Boshielo has urged community members to report all cases of abuse timeously.

The plea comes after a mother who is connected to the murder of her 11-year-old son was arrested.

Tiffany Nicole Meek was nabbed two months after Jayden-Lee Meek’s body was discovered outside his family unit in Fleurhof at a residential complex.

His mother made her first appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Monday.

Boshielo has assured communities that police will bolster efforts to protect the public.

“The work continues to keep our women, children and vulnerable groups safe. Our detectives remain hard at work with their tracing operations to put more GBVF [gender-based violence and femicide] perpetrators behind bars.”
