Modiba and Letsoalo say their suspension from the RAF is ‘baseless’

The two briefed the media in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon to present what they described as evidence, including graphs and internal email correspondence, allegedly proving systemic wrongdoing within the RAF.

The Road Accident Fund’s (RAF) suspended CEO, Collins Letsoalo, and chief investment officer, Sefotle Modiba, say they are being targeted for trying to expose corruption within the state entity.

The two briefed the media in Tshwane on Saturday afternoon to present what they described as evidence, including graphs and internal email correspondence, allegedly proving systemic wrongdoing within the RAF.

They argued that their reputations were being deliberately tarnished by individuals they claimed were behind the corruption they sought to confront.

Modiba started by reflecting on the successes that he and Letsoalo claimed to have made during their five-year tenure.

Modiba said that these accomplishments were achieved while the RAF was faced with numerous challenges, including outdated cash management strategies, instances of employees taking bribes, and alleged payouts to undocumented foreign nationals.

He added that their turnaround strategy had helped increase the RAF’s success rate to 85%.

Modiba claimed that the suspensions that he and Letsoalo faced were “baseless” and were part of a deliberate effort to silence those attempting to hold wrongdoers accountable.
